HOW CAN YOU HELP

The Fund aims to build and sustain a Fund minimum over $50,000 each year after annual grant distributions have been made. The OCFCT has put in place different options for individuals and businesses to make donations to the Fund.

  • Individual or organisation support by making a $50 or $100 payment per month into the Fund for a period of 12, 24 or 36 months.
  • An annual donation to the Fund.

OCFCT support in return

We do understand that people support good causes without expectation of anything in return, however the OCFCT is committed to building long term relationships with our supporters and with that in mind we will be:

  • Inviting donors to two Fund events per year (food and beverage included) to celebrate the difference you are making to the lives of our young recipients.  We will seek to have our Fund Ambassadors and Fund recipients at these events.
  • Providing all supporters with an OCFCT Annual Report outlining where your money goes and who is benefitting from your support.

Supporters will have the satisfaction of knowing they are making a genuine difference to the lives of our emerging young cricketers and the development of cricket across the wider Otago and Southland region.

Fund Ambassadors

The Fund is privileged to have four champions of Otago & New Zealand Cricket and Otago sport as Fund ambassadors.

Our Fund ambassadors are all very proud Otago sportspeople who epitomised the fundamental values our sporting region is renowned for- guts, determination, hard work, commitment and respect.  Each ambassador recognises the importance of the Fund and the value that your contribution can make.

They are individually renowned as classy cricketers who exhibited outstanding cricket ability with bat and/or ball.  Importantly, they make us feel good about the game of cricket.  They will tell you that the support they received in their formative years forged the way forward for them to become great players.

Suzie Bates

Brendon McCullum

"I've got great memories of my time in Otago and all the support I had as a youngster. I'm proud to put my name to this Fund which will support the next generation of Otago Cricketers".

Craig Cumming

"Otago Cricket has given me so many great opportunities in my life so providing opportunities for our next generation of cricketers in Otago is something I am very passionate about. To be an ambassador for Leading Edge which focuses on giving such opportunities is a great honour".

"It's now the turn of the next generation of cricketer to endeavour to achieve what our ambassadors have achieved. Striving to be world class and fulfilling life long dreams takes a lot of commitment. At the same time, it makes the rest of us feel proud about living in Otago and Southland and having an association with these athletes".
