Otago Cricket Board Director

Due to the Board three-year rotation policy, OCA is seeking three Appointed Board Directors to join its Board from 26 October 2022.  Three incumbent Board Directors retire by rotation in October and can seek re-appointment for a further three-year term. 

The Board of Otago Cricket is a governance board, providing strategic leadership and supporting the CEO in the delivery of the strategic plan.  The Board’s main functions include setting the overall direction for Otago Cricket, making policy and strategy decisions, overseeing and monitoring organisational performance, and ensuring overall accountability and managing key strategic relationships.

The OCA has a strong belief in diversity and inclusivity and encourages candidates from differing ethnic backgrounds and gender to apply.  The successful candidate/s will bring all or some of the following: 

  • The ability to think strategically, have well rounded relationship building skills;
  • The ability to see the big picture, represent the Otago and Southland region and be analytical by nature, possess good Governance experience;
  • Commercial savviness including strong financial acumen, and a genuine interest and understanding of community and high-performance sport.


OCA is a regional not-for-profit organisation. Board Directors are volunteers.

Closing date: 5.00pm Wednesday 28 September 2022.

Otago Sparks Strength and Conditioning Coach

Otago Cricket supported by NZ Cricket is keen to find a suitable person to undertake a new strength and conditioning role working with our female players in the Otago Sparks squad. This role will form a key part of the enhanced support being given to our female players.

We are seeking expressions of interest for a newly created role as Lead Strength and Conditioning coach for the Otago Sparks Women’s Cricket team. This is an opportunity to lead and implement a performance plan specific to the needs of our local contracted female athletes.

The role will be 0.3 FTE, equating to approximately 12 hours per week for a period of 7 months with the opportunity of the role being renewed season by season.

Otago Sparks Manager/Assistant Coach​​​​​​​

We are seeking expressions of interest for the role of Manager/Assistant Coach of the Otago Sparks Women’s Cricket team. This is an opportunity to be a key part of the support team for the Otago Sparks in what is an extremely exciting time for women’s cricket.

The role will primarily encompass managing the team, with the added responsibility of assisting the Head Coach with coaching when required.

Otago Volts Convenor of Selectors

We are seeking expressions of interest for the role of Convenor of Selectors of the Otago Volts men's cricket team. This is an opportunity to be a key part of the selection process for the Otago Volts.

The role will primarily encompass arranging, chairing and contributing to selection meetings, aligning the process to the campaign plans for the team and communication of the selected squads to stakeholders.
